There is a lot here that is overwhelming. The emotional content of this record is staggering. The raw and almost unbearable pain is nothing if not earnest and gut-wrenching. There is so much beauty here as well. Soul crushing, achingly intense, beauty. A beauty that, if it catches you in a vulnerable state, has the potential to leave you an awe-inspired, trembling, wreck.
I’ve also caught myself launching into the void, propelled by the ridiculous energy, infused perfectly into the tracks that demand electricity. That force could as easily derive from the desire to rock the fuck out, as it could be inspired by the rage leftover from the heartache that so obviously drives this record.
