Put this record on repeat for a month. I swear to god the journey will be worth it. Trust me. Give in to the entirety of this debut release and you’ll find enough depth, beauty, and struggle to fuel a thousand lifetime’s worth of stories. Intricate, shifty, hypnotic, disturbing, wonderful. I played this for a friend who had no knowledge of the recording. He was initially shocked, but 15 seconds in realized exactly why. It’s everything I love about a record.
Do not expect immediacy with this album though. Its hook takes 39 minutes to set. Perfect for an all-night darkroom session, or cross-country road trip. Or any kind of trip to be honest. And if this is what’s narrating your journey, a moment will arrive where you experience something of perfection.
