Every time I begin to write up a review of this record, I’m at a loss to write anything that doesn’t come across as insane hyperbole. So I’ll just come right out and say it. This is a staggeringly fantastic album. Immediately brilliant. One that’ll forever weave itself into my very existence.
This is the kind of recording that places an asterisk into your history book. One that denotes a “before” and then an “after” of who you were and now are, upon hearing it. The typical superlatives a record like this receives are fair enough, and every note is worthy. What Invitation Songs really deserves however is to stop talking about it and just listen to it. Over and over and over.
