Low down and dirty. You know, the good stuff. Equal parts honky tonk, back-room bar blues, and seat-of-your-pants rock ’n’ roll. The music here is easy, loose and a rollicking good time. Dig a little deeper into the Faces and it’s no wonder this record sounds so good. Composed of Rod Stewart before he was Rod “Do ya think I’m sexy” Stewart, Ron Wood before he joined the Stones, Kenny Jones before he replaced Keith Moon in The Who, Ronnie Lane, and Ian McLagan, the Faces were a super group in reverse.

The results of all that talent peaked with Ooh La La. This collection of ten songs shows the confidence the band had in themselves, and the desire to get it right. It’s also an exercise in being able to define the genre through multiple definitions. Yes, there is some debauchery present, but the subtle touches, and the moments of reflection dovetail perfectly, making this, their final recording, a good-bye to remember.
