For fans of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Alec Ounsworth’s distinct voice is immediately recognizable, like an actor that’s meant to play the part. I’ve been listening to this record non-stop for the last few days. Some of that is the process. Some of it is what this whole exercise is all about, connecting with the music on a deeper plane. The main reason Mo Beauty has been on endless repeat is, it’s so damn good.

Beautiful and haunting, this album is full of the spirit of where it was recorded, New Orleans.  A life long desire to make a record in the Crescent City, Ounsworth enlisted former Meter’s bassist George Porter, Jr. and Greyboy Allstars’ keyboardist Robert Walter to help make that dream a reality. And it is a dream, one that easily carries you along with it.
