Thousand Arrows is the solo project of Pete Schreiner. If the name isn’t immediately recognizable, his contributions to help others make meaning of this world, should be. Music from the Coke Dares, Songs:Ohia, and Magnolia Electric Co., among others, all benefitted from his efforts.
The music here is raw and exposed, leading to the kind of honesty that isn’t always easy to convey, or consume. There isn’t anything on this record to hide behind. Nothing that will provide a false narrative, or allow you to pretend the weight isn’t crushing you. What it will do, is stop you in your tracks, draw you a little closer, and join you in your struggle. Sometimes that’s all we need.
